for North Sydney Office Building Lobby

The owners of an office building needed to update and renovate the lift lobby floor which comprised a mix of ceramic tiles, old terrazzo & carpet. A polished concrete type finish was specified but because the offices were operational the building couldn't be closed down & a new slab installed.

The cost & logistics of removing the terrazzo & tiles also posed an expensive problem. Concrete Artisans came up with a cost effective solution where all works could be done out of working hours.

First the carpet was removed & the entire floor was diamond ground to remove the glue & clean the surface. A special galvanised mesh was secured over the joins & cracks. The floor was primed & pre-leveled using Ardex K15 + A25. This work was carried out at night but because of Ardex Ardur rapid technology , the K15 leveling compound could take heavy foot traffic the next morning.
